Robinhood Leads $45M Series B Extension for Crypto Infrastructure Firm Talos at $1.5B Valuation
Talos, the institutional-grade crypto trading infrastructure provider, has secured $45 million in a Series B extension round led by Robinhood Markets and Sony Innovation Fund. The deal values the New York-based company at $1.5 billion, marking a 20% increase from its $1.25 billion valuation during the initial Series B close in May 2022.
The funding round saw participation from both new strategic investors including IMC, QCP, and Karatage, as well as returning backers such as Andreessen Horowitz's a16z crypto, BNY Mellon, and Fidelity Investments. Talos has doubled its revenue and client base over the past two years, now serving hundreds of institutional clients across 35 countries - including asset managers overseeing $21 trillion in combined assets.
This investment follows Talos's acquisition of blockchain analytics firm Coin Metrics for over $100 million in July 2024, signaling aggressive expansion in institutional crypto infrastructure. The fresh capital will likely accelerate product development and global market penetration as traditional finance firms increasingly demand compliant crypto trading solutions.
